It's Monday. There are 43 days until the presidential election. America loses a hero, the nation hits a tragic milestone and Bill Barr designates American cities as "anarchist jurisdictions."

Note: Hi. How are you holding up? Yeah, us too. Things aren't great. We've probably had more depressing weekends in the past, but we sure as hell can't tell you when. The truth is things are pretty damn awful now. In fact, everything is a total shit fucking sandwich. RBG's death was like a punch to the gut, and we're still trying to get our wind back. And yeah, it has only been compounded by the drooling giddiness of the monsters rushing to replace her with a bizarro-RBG who thinks women have far too many rights and the state should have control over their uteruses. We spent the weekend grappling with the idea that 2016 was actually for the whole ball of wax, and we fucked it up (We're gonna call the new court the Sarandon Court.). So then we played that out. Ok, let's assume that's true, what would we change now? Would we stop fighting? Give up? Quit? Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck no. We are Americans. We are too goddamn dumb to quit when the odds are stacked against us like this. If RBG could fight, then we can too. And we're not gonna stop fighting. Ever. And we're not alone. ActBlue, the Democratic fundraising service, reported donations to Democratic candidates and causes this weekend went over $100 million. That is insane. And it should scare the living shit out of every asshole with an R next to his name. So as we mourn, let's get ready for battle. Because this is Trumpland, and we eat shit fucking sandwiches for breakfast.

Note two: Y'all we desperately need this… More: YouTube

Note three: So in addition to the ActBlue numbers, there are three other reasons to think all is not lost. 1. We learned over the weekend that Trumpland has badly squandered their cash advantage, and now Joe has a massive money lead. 2. Did you see the long lines of people showing up to vote in Virginia Friday? 3. We go back to Team Joe. Our candidate was in action this weekend, and if you didn't see his remarks yesterday, you missed the first salvo from our champion. And it was a good one. We've got 43 days to make these motherfuckers pay for fucking with RBG's legacy. Y'all ready to kick some ass? More: Associated Press, Washington Post, Washington Post II

Note four: It turns out Robert Mueller is a weakling and a coward. This Atlantic story will infuriate you. Ivanka was in on the cover-up of the Trump Tower meeting, and Bob gave her a pass because he was afraid of the right-wing media. America needs some courageous people. Where the fuck are they? Note five: Want to really be pissed off today? Trump was asked about RBG's dying wish that the next president replace her, and he said he didn't think she actually said that. "I don't know that she said that, or was that written out by Adam Schiff and Schumer and Pelosi. I would be more inclined to the second." It actually came from her granddaughter.

Note nine: It has been a rough few days. We hope y'all are managing to keep your heads up. We know it's not easy. It sure feels like God is a former Fox News exec who got pushed out for sexually harassing women and as part of his settlement was given control of the Earth. We also know that our party is as weak as their party is ruthless. America is in a bad way. And we're the only people who can fix it. So let's cry and fight, fight and cry. We love y'all. Hang in there.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg completely changed America for women. To call her a trailblazer, a pioneer, a hero just doesn't seem sufficient. Our hearts hurt for her family, her millions of admirers and the nation she made better. There are people who are far better to remember her and everything she did for us, so we've linked to an aggregation of those below. More: The Cut

RIP x 200,000

In addition to the lioness of the Supreme Court, the United States also passed a COVID death toll of 200,000 this weekend. One of the links below is to a youtube video of the bells at the National Cathedral ringing in remembrance. We have a game show host president who went on Fox this morning and gave himself an A+ for how he handled this disaster, said we're rounding the corner even as 800 Americans die a day and promised a vaccine within weeks even though people who actually know medicine and science say that's not happening. There is some good news on the last one as Americans clearly don't trust Trump when it comes to vaccines. The president celebrated the big news by playing golf again. Trump defunds police

Top Trump henchman Bill Barr, who is still holding the laminated free pass House Democrats gave him, announced this morning that he has designated the cities of New York, Seattle and Portland "anarchist jurisdictions," and they will be targeted for losing federal funding. Yeah, Trump loves Russia and North Korea, but he fucking hates America. Things are bad, y'all. This doesn't even sound like shit that could happen here. But how many times have we said that lately?
